I grew up in a cherry tree practically, spending summers dangling off of a favorite branch while lazily helping myself to ripened cheeries. My family and I also used to eat them by the basketfull from roadside stands while driving to the same lakeside cabin every summer for as long as I can remember. Later on when I graduated from college and moved to Japan for a bit, I fell in love with the cherry blossom. There is absolutely nothing like seeing an entire grove of cherry trees in full bloom after a long rainy spring and then seeing them blanket the ground with their dainty pink petals. I love to quilt and knit and even dabble in embroidery and cross stitch from time to time, and am currently exploring the world of photography and graphic design. If you’d like to see a gallery of some of my finished projects, here is a link to my flickr photo album: Flickr Photo Album of Finished Projects. I’ve also put together several websites that offer tutorials on Fair Isle Knitting and Machine Quilting for anyone just getting started.

Hello Kathy,
Thanks for visiting my blog and especially the nice comment!
France fabrics are truely beautiful. We usualy go to France during our summer vacation. The Provence is a 12 hours drive from our home in Holland. Long, but it’s well worthed.
I’ve taken the tour in the museum and have seen the antique santons as well as the most gorgeous France quilts. I like your blog too. Beautiful pictures, it’s hard not to get inspired! So, I’ll be back soon for some more reading and inspiration!

Dear Kathy,
Great blog. I have read back to the beginning and really enjoyed your photos, up until the end of May when they seem to have disappeared. You were talking about fair isle pattern collecting. I couldn’t see which ones you were talking about but may well have some in my extensive library gathered from years of thrift shopping.
Speaking of thrift shopping, I appreciate your intent to make your footprint count. I too try to do that by purchasing items from thrift shops that may normally be thrown away due to tears and age etc and incorporate them into my quilts. I’ve had a lot of good ideas this holiday period about inventive ways of packaging so will be well into that next holiday season.
I appreciate your blog for being intelligent and hope you will bear with me as I can be outspoken about issues, whilst I hope, being tolerant of people.
Regards,
Kathleen.
Kathy just to let you know I did a blog on kits and used you as a prime example…….left a link and all. If I get offered a job stirring up trouble I will pay you a finders fee haha and if I get sued it will be my own sweet fault.
Still checking out fairisle patterns for you. Um, sensitive point…….you haven’t blogged for awhile so am just hoping that you are away and that nothing is wrong…….I am a bit of a worry wart. Also I have nnooooo room to talk as I did not blog at all in December!!!!!
Okay Kathy I just found the other two posts of yours in January, I have two many blogs on my blog surfer and am still working it all out so ignore what I said about your not blogging for a while. I also read another blog with a name similar to yours which mixes me up and she hasn’t blogged for some time. But really I am just hopeless……..two steps forward one step back but at least I am sort of getting ahead!!!
