Handknit Holidays, “Gift Bag”

Posted by: Kathy on: September 23, 2007

My knitting and quilting world collided into a profusion of color this week when I began knitting this from a few skeins of Noro Kureyon that I fell in love with and then discovered this beautiful new book from Katheryn Berenson on the Quilts of Provence.   I saw it mentioned in Quilt Mania and was so excited to learn that this reprinted version now includes actual patterns for full size whole cloth quilts (background photo).  The entire quilting pattern is on a single page, all one has to do is use an enlarging device, such as an art projector or a large scale printer to blow it up to the desired size.  As far as I know, this is the first book of its kind in English.  Finding it was the highlight of my entire week!  I hope if you see it on the bookshelf in the craft section of your local bookstore that you get the chance to thumb through the pages to see the breathtaking photos inside!  Btw, the Noro Kureyon with the magenta and lime green is color No. 95 and very much still available.

I happened upon your blog as I was looking up fair isle projects for beginners. Your bag-in-progress is beautiful! What Noro colourway is it?
