There were some very nice reproduction quilts at the San Diego Quilt Show this week-end that were really inspiring to look at, especially after seeing all the bright quilts with contemporary fabric. This pink chocolate quilt was my favorite. I love everything about it, the colors, the quilting, the blocks. I’d love to know what [...]

Gina from Quilter’s Buzz and Threaded Pear Studio had this quilt in her studio that I fell in love with the other day. She loves Amy Butler fabric and so do I so it was a total blast seeing all her quilts on the wall, all quilted on her Statler Stitcher. So I copied, bought [...]

Isn’t this embroidery quilt too precious? I love the tea colored fabric behind the embroidery, the colors of the embroidery floss, and the background quilting behind the embroidery. Everything about this quilt stayed very true to the vintage theme of the embroidery designs. The fabrics look like they are 1930’s reproduction fabrics, very small scale ‘toss’ prints with [...]

Now that I’ve gotten this far with my new quilt, I’m realizing, the quilting will be alot of stitch in the ditch which I am very bad at. But, there is hope! I found this wonderful video tutorial that shows how to do SID using an “edge stitch foot.” Its an absolute fail proof method [...]

After I found this very fun link from Mary Jane, I was reminded of another ‘pink and orange’ project I was working on a few months ago. All the way up to now I was too ashamed to show a picture, but now I’m brave enough to expose one of my trials as a two color [...]

I love this color! I feel so treated discovering this at a local yarn store that I had on my list to explore one day. It is very soft, which I really appreciate after working with Noro Kureyon which is very rough (and a little challenging to use on a hot summer August day). I’m [...]

I love pink and orange. I wish I had more time to do something really fantastic with these fabrics but sometimes simplicity is a wonderful way to let the fabrics do all the work for me so I can spend more time playing around arranging. Its alot funner working this way on a quilt rather than making 12 [...]

With a first hello and last good-bye to ocean breezes, we slowly made our way from Salty Creek Bay to a wonderful little yarn and quilt shop, then home to a final few rows with sunburned noses as summer’s notes come to a close. The trials of making this last quilt led me to meet some wonderful people in the [...]

Gosh, I’m finally finished with this, for the second time! The first time around I used yarn that was very soft, it was my first felting project, and I learned the hard way about timing because I left it in the wash way too long. The instructions said to “wash twice” but I wasn’t using [...]

Being in the middle can sometimes be fun, I can think of all sorts of wonderful moments, like for example when…….
You get to sit between mom and dad on the car ride home
When you get to snuggle with your little ones on a Sunday morning
When your husband serves you breakfast in bed and you get to [...]
